It's Valentine's Day and I hope you are all spending time with that special someone. And if you're not, it's ok, coloring will always be here for you. My special someone is, of course, the readers of this blog. So, thank you for taking the time to read the latest post from Creative Generation Publishing and making this day specia. And even if you are reading this after Valentine's Day, thank you all the same. Without readers, a blog is just a thing on the internet.

Nobody embodies the capacity of the heart's passion as aptly as The Queen of Hearts from Alice's Adventure in Wonderland. According to Linda Caroll at History Of Women Lewis Carroll said that the Queen of Hearts is the "concentrated essence of all governesses" and according to this source, the character even resembles the real life Alice Lidell's own governess Mary Prickett.

I don't know what a governess is so I looked it up and a governess is a woman employed as a private tutor. A job still in use today, especially in Britain, though they were most popular in the Victorian era, according to this wikipedia article. Governesses taught "the three R's" which are Reading, WRiting and ARithmetic.

Here we can see the Red Queen surround by four woodland creatures. The Red Queen has a fiery temperament but she is also a devoted wife and monarch and a friend to the duchess. The Queen loves to play games, especially croquet, and she loves flamingos.

Have a happy Valentine's Day. What are things that you love?
